"Seven years after the launch of themarker.com, the site reached 13% of Israel's population. We thought we had reached our maximum penetration," says Eitan Avriel, the site's founder and editor.
However, in February when TheMarker launched it’s social network, based on the Socialdex Publisher product, the effect on the site's brand and traffic was immediate. "TheMarker social network increased our traffic dramatically, and showed us we can double our reach in Israel's internet arena," says Avriel.
After only six months, the social network generated 23 million pageviews per month, out of 65 million themarker.com pageviews. It also generated 33% of the site's unique visitors, adding 600,000 unique per month. The social network has shown constant growth since it’s launch.
TheMarker social network has transformed many of the site's anonymous readers into a community. "I founded the site seven years ago, but only now do I know its users," adds Avriel. "It has broadened our user base, and empowered our brand significantly".
"It's not just a matter of quantity, but also quality. Today we have even more quality content on our website and in our newspaper. We can choose from a large number of posts and topics our users create every day. There is great enthusiasm in the newsroom about our new network".
